UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania – March 18, 2014 – The Pennsylvania State University has selected The Efficiency Network (TEN) to provide guaranteed energy savings by delivering targeted building improvements to Penn State’s Main and Commonwealth campuses.

TEN will receive a portion of the $40 million allocated for the implementation of building system upgrades that meet specific payback goals within this initiative. The University selected TEN from a robust applicant pool of experienced energy efficiency firms to complete these building improvements. Potential projects include: building envelope; lighting; HVAC; domestic hot water; building automation; laboratory controls; steam distribution system; plug loads and compressed air system upgrades.

The Pennsylvania State University looks forward to success with TEN’s streamlined contracting model. Under this model, Penn State will see greater value and price transparency as well as a greater degree of control. TEN is assuming full financial responsibility for the design and construction of all projects and is also providing a savings guarantee for project outcomes.
